Coleman Sundome 4 Person Tent

(4.5/5)

Coleman Sundome 4 Person TentThe Coleman Sundome 4 Person Tent is a 4 person shelter more suitable for car camping than backpacking.

It provides a generous 9’ by 7’ interior with 63 square feet of space and a dome-style roof allowing for 59’’ of height, giving an excellent amount of headroom.

The Coleman Sundome 4 Person Tent makes for an excellent base camp shelter, with its composite of polyethylene taffeta with a polyester rain fly, attaching to the tent poles with clips.

Coleman Sundome 4 Person Tent B

The partial rain fly of the Coleman Sundome 4 Person Tent allows for excellence in visibility, with the mesh windows remaining uncovered, irrespective of the rain fly being in place.

These windows can be fully zippered closed for repelling water in case of inclement weather while bright yellow guy lines attached to the rain fly keep accidental tripping to a minimum.

While the rain fly does not extend all the way to the ground, a possible concern during rain running sideways, the Coleman Sundome 4 Person Tent compensates by having a bathtub floor, meant for maximum protection from standing water.

What People Say about the Coleman Sundome 4 Person Tent:

“Great tent! Used it twice this past summer while camping. The bathtub bottom kept us and our stuff nice and dry during a torrential down pour – the rain fly worked well. My only complaint is that it should not be listed as a 4-person tent. if the tent is completely empty, yes, four people can physically fit inside the tent-however I imagine it would be very very tight for four people to sleep inside it comfortably. My boyfriend and I had a queen sized air mattress in there and there was not much room leftover on the sides.” – gin

What People Say about Coleman Sundome 4 Person Tent

“For the price this tent is as good as it gets. Easy to set up without a second person (once you get the hang of it). Zippers work very well, although perhaps not as hearty a tents costing three more but plenty adequate. The size is generous for two persons and gear. I love the open view without the fly and the fly is nice if the weather makes it needful. The head room is way better than most tents in this class. The overall design of the tent is well thought out. I’m a happy camper.” – Tracy Hansen

“I was going camping for the first time in a long time and needed a tent. I wasn’t ready to drop a few hundred dollars and I didn’t want anything two difficult. It had to stay dry in inclement weather.

So I bought this tent; it was perfect for what I needed (sleep two people comfortably and dryly).

• I like the produce because:
1. I was able to set the tent up alone, quickly, and without needing instructions.
2. The tent has great ventilation; no buildup of moister inside the tent.
3. Easy to take down and put back into it’s easy to carry bag—very light.
4. It fit my queen-size air mattress easily and slept two comfortably. It can sleep four people in sleeping bags side-by-side).
• I would like to be able to standup instead of crouch, but then I think points 1 and 3 may adversely impacted.
• I had no weather problems and stands up to rain (I don’t know how it does in downpours).
• The item was shipped and delivered on time as I expect from Amazon.” – Sam Lingeman
